Juggling Knives While Carving A Pumpkin
This weekend I had a couple of gigs in the Chicago area, but I went up a day early to participate in a taping for Chicago Public Access Cable TV.
Harper, Matiss and I showed up with a bag full of juggling machetes and two pumpkins.
We carved this one in advance, and the other was to [...]

Fort Wayne Indiana Jugglefest
I went up to the Fort Wayne juggling festival last weekend. It was fun, and very low key. There were maybe 30 or so people there, so it was much smaller than your average regional jugglefest, but it was a nice little gathering.
There were two things about the fest that were awesome. [...]

This Just In: Juggling Replaces Esperanto as the International Language
I had a near catastrophe at the Wisconsin State Fair this year. The last routine that I do in my outdoor show is a combination trick where I do a whole bunch of stuff at once. I juggle two balls in one hand, do Loop-the-Loop with a yo-yo in the other hand, spin [...]

Good Times In Portland
The IJA festival is going great as expected. In addition to seeing some great juggling, and doing a little myself, I decided that this is a good time to learn to whistle the loud way. You know, the kind where you put your fingers in your mouth and deafen everyone around you. [...]

Portland Bound
In a mere 7 hours I leave for the International Jugglers Associations annual summer convention! This year it is in Portland OR, and it’s gonna be fun. I don’t know if I’ll get around to posting the week I’m out there, it’s usually hard to get away for normal life things during a juggling fest.

Life on the Road… an Over-Detailed Snapshot for the REALLY Curious
Yesterday, Vader (my dog) and I left Indianapolis around noon Eastern time. We stopped briefly at the library to get what turned out to be a boring audiobook. I’m actually still in the middle of listening to Dune by Frank Herbert (and it’s AWESOME!) but it’s on cassette and I wanted to take [...]

Dogs, Deer, Soccer and Juggling
My dog loves to chase deer. Sometimes it has been a bit of a problem. Today on our walk in a forested area he chased one right AT me. It passed within 8 feet of me. My thought process went something like, “Oh here comes Vader (he’s about the same color as deer)… wow, he’s [...]

The Problem with America’s Got Talent
There is a new show on NBC called America’s Got Talent. I am very happy to have variety arts on TV, but there are some real problems with America’s Got Talent.
I’ll warn you now… this is a pretty massive rant.

Amazing Juggling Video
I just watched what may be the best juggling clip-video I have ever seen. It was done by Vova Galchenko and Mark Bakalor as a contest entry for Fat Boy Slim’s new video for his song “That Old Pair of Jeans” There was a lot of frustration in the juggling community when the video [...]
